In his introduction, Rabbi Emanuel Green writes, "The National Jewish Music Council is privileged to participate in the celebration of the 75th birthday of Ernest Bloch, one of the greatest composers of our time, whose art has so markedly contributed to the development of modern music in general and Jewish music in particular. The Music Council has selected as the theme of the 1956 Jewish Music Festival, "The Music of Ernest Blcoh." This Manual has been prepared as an aid to groups in arranging concerts, radio broadcasts, club projects and organization projects around this theme."
Manual includes several black and white halftone images, many articles about Bloch, a list of published works, recordings, and a bibliography of literature on Bloch and his work.
