The third album of German soprano Ute Ziemer, who has received her training from the university of music in Vienna as well as from Ruthilde Boesch and the unforgettable Dame Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, brings the focus to the theme of the child. Joined by pianist Julian Riem, equally a master of the song repertoire, Ziemer performs romantic works from the Volks-Kinderlieder by Johannes Brahms, by Robert Schumann, Max Reger and Hugo Wolf, as well as classicals by W.A. Mozart, Franz Schubert and Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. Furthermore included are less well-known childrens songs and lullabies by Hermann Zilcher, Yrjö Kilpinen, Gaetano Donizetti, Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss.
