Under the artistic direction of Michael Groß, the Parnassus Akademie brings together musicians from world-known chamber ensembles and leading orchestras, instrumental soloists, conservatoire teachers and highly talented young students, to perform both well-known and rare works from all periods of music history. For six years now the ensemble has been “orchestra in residence” at the Maasmechelen Cultural Centre in Belgium. From the beginning the musicians have been performing in the local St-Peter’s Church, the name of which they chose for their ensemble before recently renaming it Parnassus Akademie.
