A Theresienstadt (1945) Poèmes de Robert Desnos (4 Juillet 1900, Paris - 8 juin 1945, Theresienstadt) Le 22 février 1944, Robert Desnos est arrêté par la Gestapo emmené rue des Saussaies à Paris puis incarcéré à Fresnes. Le 20 au 27 mars, il est transféré au camp de Royallieu à Compiègne. (Les poèmes Sol de Compiègne, Chanson de route, Printemps, sont écrits dans ce camp en mars-avril 1944). Il est déporté au camp d'Auschwitz dans un transport de 1700 personnes où il arrive le Le 30 avril 1944, puis transféré à Buchenwald (12 au 14 mai 1944). Déplacé vers Flossenburg le 25 mai et vers le kommando de Flöha, en Saxe (usine Messerschmitt). Le 14 avril 1945 sous la pression des armées alliées, le kommando de Flöha est évacué. La dernière étape pour Desnos sera Térézin (Theresienstadt), en Tchécoslovaquie (photo). Il arrive le 3 mai 1945, alors que les S.S. s’enfuient à l’arrivée des troupes soviétiques. Hospitalisé et soigné avec des moyens de fortune, Desnos est reconnu par ses soignants : Josef Stuna et Aléna Tesarova. Celle-ci évoque ainsi l'instant où Desnos entendit prononcer son nom : « Le 4 juin, vers 5 heures du matin, un nom me rejeta dans l'avant-guerre : mon collègue, qui travaillait cette nuit pour la première fois à la baraque voisine de la nôtre, vint m'annoncer qu'il existait, parmi les malades, un certain Desnos. Comme on lui demandait s'il connaissait le poète français Robert Desnos, il répondit : « Oui, oui! Robert Desnos, poète français, c'est moi! C'est moi! » Mais il est trop tard pour Robert Desnos.
